Apologies if already a similar thread but searched through 4 pages and couldn’t find one. If you could write up a whole plan/recruitment report to hand to Wolves for this summer what would it look like?…

A LOT of work Mr Jackson so get to it! LOL! Yes…I have no life! LOL!

In his post match, Edwards mentioned Santi and that it's too early to say if he will stay (or words to that effect).

I thought he'd be one of the most likely to stay. Maybe the exodus will be bigger than even we think?

Oh god now that’s depressing if he goes too. Genuinely thought he would be one sticking around!

It’s a bit more than rebuilding the team though.

I can’t help think the struggle will continue until we are rid of Fosun.
Agreed mate…this wouldn’t be too unrealistic for a club that knew what they were doing so is probably dreamland but it’s a bit of fun and that squad would be more than good enough imo.

For whatever reason Fosun have cooled their focus with us, we won’t see anywhere near the required structural and playing staff rebuild needed.

Rob will be here until Christmas, gone by January with us sat around 12th playing turgid direct football up to Arokodare.

25% of me says Fosun will get a cold dose of reality and realise they must go back cap in hand to Mendes. If that happens, then expect a new, continental manager, Mendes clients and the "Project 2.0" back on.

75% of me says they will stick with Edwards and "self-sustainability", absolutely determined to make it work. If that happens, then expect a raft of higher end to mid-range Championship players struggle under RE to establish themselves, and slip into mid-table. Then, Edwards is fired in November and rinse and repeat where the new guy fails to get a tune out of Edwards' squad, as half this forum preach patience and to let the new guy assemble his own team before passing judgement.

Interesting thread, I'm just going for one thing I'd do, will include others as time goes on, but I'm going to be positive and give Fosun another chance.
I'd get Tommy Doyle back as Captain.

Think we all deep down know this will be the case…just hope we’re all wrong! LOL!

Think the 75% will be creeping up by the day mate. LOL!

Big shout mate. I do rate Tommy but not sure that he would want to come back and I’ve watched him for Blues a few times this season. Technically he still looks good enough but not sure he has the legs we need in there. Like you say though, he’s captain material so any leaders welcome currently eh?!

I really want him to stay too!

He is an international and will have people who want him on the continent

The exodus is going to be chunky!

I don’t think mane will be with us next season either

If Edwards is saying that for the likes of Santi, then it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility to assume that these will want out too.

Krejci
Mosquera
Mane
Sa
JRB

My hope is that we can keep all of the above, add 2-3 Mendes favours and build with the intention of a Premier League future firmly in mind.

The alternative is they show no ambition to get us promoted at all, completely cut the wage bill and take us back to pre-Fosun days.

From what I’ve seen of them they’re always willing to spend what they make (broadly!), so I’d expect a big investment this summer relative to the league.

They have to get it right though. It’s roulette given the drop in parachute revenue after year 1.

This is probably massive stretch, but I would ask the question of City for James Trafford. Potentially a loan with a fee inserted for a promotion clause.

James Trafford is massively over rated!

He is worse with a cross than Jesus!

Very weak physically too

He would be a waste of a chunky salary

Trouble with even the 25% is that even when the project was on, they only made one decent managerial appointment.

Did think of him but isn’t he back up so thought they would be reluctant to let him go maybe?… Would 100% take him though!

The main question is…….

Do Fosun even want a rebuild this summer? What changes or plans are they considering?

Without that critical piece of the jigsaw it’s hard to know what to think.

They have no choice in the matter…..

They have said they want to bounce back and Nathan has said they have planned for it.

We will lose a high number of the squad.

So if they want bums on seats and people to stick around a rebuild is a non negotiable

I don't have much connection with many of these players tbh. I like Joao, Jose, and for some reason I can't put my finger on Hugo, JRB and Krejci. I don't like Andre, Mosquera annoys me, but both are players a cut above the Championship. Really not bothered about any of the others. Mane is gone already. Sasa and Doyle I quite like but obviously have issues. It will be very interesting to see who we keep, but such is the lack of performance and disconnect with the club, that I am pretty ambivalent who stays or goes tbh

If they keep Edwards in place that will tell me all I need to know.
Yeah…..I agree.

“ No choice”? ………really?
Ok, if that your view.

Yeah…..I agree.

It is the view of any one who actually understands what is needed to get us back up
Straight away and Fosun to improve the relationship with the fans.

So I will ask you, if there is no rebuild, how do we;

how do we get promoted at the first time of asking with the playing squad being where it is?

How do they improve the trust and relationship with the local and matchgoing fans after Nathan has said they plan for a straight back up season?

They don’t have a choice but to rebuild……

The only players I'd like to keep are santi, krecji, joao, roddy & mane sadly I don't think we will, possibly tolu i think offers more than Armstrong & could do a job in te champ,Hugo I think is ok on his day but he can be a bit hot & cold with his performances other than that the rest can go including rob can't really see him getting us back up.

They in a hurry to get back up soon? Or to rebuild a team to compete in the PL?

Not necessarily.
Anyway, you have your view. I see nothing yet to think you might be right…..nothing.

Certainly not the fans/Nathan fluff meeting.

Do you read anything the club say or what was discussed in the fan channel and other panel meeting?

As Nathan himself said they have plans in motion or ready to come up straight away and have planned to spend money as they said we will be one of the biggest clubs spending wise in the league.

Read what he said…… it is only described as A REBUILD

So you think this squad stays together and is good enough to come straight back up?

As if you don’t…… a rebuild is the only way it happens

You see nothing in the set up at wolves that says we need a rebuild? And you haven’t seen or heard words from Nathan and what other said was discussed that says a rebuild is coming?

You really are oblivious to what is happening with our club then

I don’t think he’s massively happy there, but not too sure! @wolfslair flagged some weaknesses with him, but I guess the main think for me is investing in that position long term.

He may come good in time, he is VERY young and has a lot of developing still to do.

He at this stage of his career isn’t the guy to do what we need to do with.

100% agree mate. Sa will go and personally never been a fan of Johnstone so hope we invest well there.

I think there is ‘rebuild’ and there is rebuild…

Eg McCarthy’s first season was a rebuild in that he had to build an entire squad of youngsters for more or less “buttons”, of which he did a damn good job it must be said and looking back one of my favourite eras as a fan.

Then there is a Nuno-esque rebuild where they go for a full structural and player overhaul, with big budgets and tie-ins with super agents.

Hopefully Fosun will get it right whatever they choose, but I just can’t see the stars aligning again the way they did 2017/18.

I'm expecting yet another "transition season"...
We'll be told to not expect too much because transition takes time and they are using next season to lay the building blocks for a glorious future..
Of course once future becomes present the story will repeat itself..

Agree, practically zero chance Fosun go big again, despite what Nathan may have said to the fan group reps.

The problem is Edwards is nowhere near as capable as Mick and the rebuild is likely to be massive.

You could easily imagine us being down to bare bones, left with the ones you didn't want (such as Jackson, Johnstone, Toti).

As they say the first rats off a sinking ship are the best swimmers.

Looking back on it Micks job that first season was nothing short of sensational.
