2025/26 Season Mr Rob Edwards and his Press Conferences

"For some it could be their last time at Molineux"

What a sad state of affairs it is, when that line genuinely made me feel cheerful.
Thats a very fair comment, I know personally there are many considering this weekends game to be their last game at Molineux (or anywhere) watching Wolves for many a while, should Edwards and Jackson remain in their current roles,
The message would/should seem clear for Fosun, at season end,, its time to say Goodbye Rob and Matt, and Thankyou for your services,
but now we need to move on, with better management, better tactics, better players and better improved chances of creating a team for promotion and settling in the premier League,
I guess thats all down to Nathan now, I sincerely hope, Nathan has been working on names and even approaching managers over taking over the hotseat at Wolves, maybe hopefully with the help with Uncle Jorge

Molineux mix has never been a reflection of feelings at Molineux.

At the time I did want Lambert to stay, but wasn’t bothered when he was sacked, I’m even less wedded to keeping Edwards to be honest.

Although I’m pretty sure he’s not been the biggest issue over the last 5 years.
I love this line its not a reflection, I think that depends where you sit.

Often its actually fairly reflective of sorts a general feeling, a median.

I don't know how many members of the Mix were at the Amex last Saturday, but I didn't see many doing the conga.

So the 2 main Fans' Forums reflect support of less than 5% and you reckon it's not representative, add to that not 1 single fan I know wants him to stay. Personally think it's a fair representation.

As far as I'm concerned if he wants to do something positive for the club he could hand in his resignation
lol constructive

He’s not going to resign and we won’t pay to sack him

I know people are angry but we have to give him a fair opportunity with the reset

This season isn’t Edwards fault his own words

Unlike his negative crap boring "football"....
Edwards said at the forum how he wants to play

Can’t do it with these players

Judging him off likely the worst season in the clubs history and coming in when the damage is done isn’t a fair reflection

If we start bad Edwards will be gone but he can only do so much

The players are one of the biggest issues fair play to him for calling them out and saying they have to go

Sundays line up will be interesting

They dont have to give him a fair opprtunity . Hes had time and proved nothing . He came with two thirds of the season left and weve continued to stink the league out .
Hes shown nothing to make me and a huge percentage of Wolves fans think he will lead us to better things through the close season and into the 26/27 campaign .
Its not all his fault of course but he has done nothing to make us think he will lead us back up ........nothing !

Hes known for a long time the players are not up to it yet his team selections and substitutions have been predictible and boring . Sunderland down to ten so we go defensive and get a draw . Hes not the manager for us .

As far as I can see, Edwards has had long enough to immplement some kind of improvement, Any kind of improvement, and all we have had is rubbish, cowardice, defensive football, and NO kind of improvement at all.
That is all we need to know,
What we need to happen is, Edwards out, and a new manager in.
Thats the only way, we have any kind of a season, next season

For me a statement of the obvious, but amazingly some disagree, hopefully not NS.

I think there's probably 100% agreement ( hmmm maybe 99.99.....Vancouver:) ) that Jeff Shi was our biggest issue.
His last big decisions were appointing Edwards and promoting Jackson...Shi got nearly everything wrong, so why do you think he got it right with the Rob & Matt dream-team?
We need a fresh start from top to bottom ...not have leftovers in charge from an era that resulted in the person that appointed them being run out of town.

As for Rob's press conference...... another complete 180 in what he said after the Brighton game and at the forum....

If the players aren’t pulling their weight which they haven’t been for a while I wouldn’t read too much into this season

Damaged limitation and the players aren’t trying I won’t be judging him until start of next season

Hating on Edwards isn’t the issue here fair enough

Those players are the ones representing our club

How many managers did we hear saying they can’t follow simple instructions and wander off

Gary O’Neil, Lage, Lopetegui, Edwards. Rightly so clear the decks and start again

You aye gotta pay to watch it so your opinion isn't valid really....

I see your championing the mass clear out , sell to buy nonsense again that has been a disaster for us over the years....Every summer you do it and every year we drop ....I will remind you when we are bottom 4/5 of the championship...Be about October...

lol by not going to games we can’t have an opinion?

Edwards has already said mass clear out sooner it happens the better these players don’t care

The reality is we ay good enough none of these players are good enough

We can’t solely blame Edwards for this season. We day even win a pre season game was that his fault too?

You can have an opinion but telling everybody else how to feel about Edwards is different.. Edwards is not good enough the same as some of the players...he has been dreadful....You would have a different opinion is you was deciding whether to shell out £600.

Your always clammer for mass change, if we have to buy 12/15 new players we will struggle...it's not football manager on a computer ..We won't spend what we bring in...just like we don't didn't in January...

We signed a load of **** last summer, you was saying there were better an improvement....Tolo was better than JSL as so on according to you..

I guarantee you Edwards out will be ringing round the ground tomorrow...

I’m not telling everyone how to feel about Edwards? We just share a different opinion. It’s pretty obvious they won’t sack him until next season at the earliest. (We was already 8 points adrift when he came in) the damage was done.

Mass change again? What mass change was there apart from selling our best players? Mass change is an entire new squad? Without Fosun investment we can only rely on sales to progress as a club?

Thankfully Nathan cleared up there was no ambition under Jeff

JSL was bad this season very lazy. Tolu didn’t have a sustained run of games but showed more desire. Tolu now wanting a move away and being dropped? Very obvious some just don’t want to be here.

JSL this season for Wolves 22 appearances 1 assist and 1 goal in the premier league

Tolu this season 31 appearances 1 assist 3 goals

Both not very good for players whose job it is to score goals. Let’s be honest very very poor. Thankfully we made some profit on JSL!

Why would we want to keep players who don’t want to be here? We could easily be talking about 10 or more….. That isn’t Edwards fault.

Losing the likes of Sarabia, RAN, Cunha and replacing them with Wolfe, Jackson and Tolu was never going to end well.

Experienced heads are required. Too many with fancy names who have been totally rubbish. That’s not on Edward’s head

Tolo is a donkey , no point looking at poor stats for either of them...They both aye trying but anyone with pair of eyes will tell ya JSL is a better player...

Nobody else in the premier league would sign Tolo...he is awful..be lucky to get 10m for him..

The club n fans needs a reset from this season and that includes Edwards, we can't go into next season with that cloud hanging over us....it won't work...

I hated Lambert. And I was right. I’m right about RE too. Hopefully Fosun’s ambition for the club matches mine.

I’d guess the fans chanting Rob Edwards is a ****er is a pretty fair reflection of Molineux and certainly tallies with the feelings on here.

The coach joined on November 12th and you say the damage was done. I wonder if you believed that at the time.

Eight points was recoverable with half a season still to play, so with all due respect MEW I find that comment total bunkum.

Half a season and a transfer window. If we’d been within touching distance Fosun would have put the money into transfers.

Did we ever look like turning that around though? We didn’t

Imagine buying a season ticket for club to publicly throw the towel in the November..

I'm still fuming , the one thing I hate is no fight or a loser mentality....The stance in November is the reason we are no further forward in May....And some expect us to still listen to the same guff from the same losers.

This it’s important for me. Nathan has admitted the club had no ambition so surely he can see the club hired a manager who suited that. So if he wants to prove to the fans he means what he says he needs to hire someone who proves it.

Where's the evidence for that?

Here's a ST renewal thread from the time of the ticket price rises.

I think over 90% actually renewed.

Agreed, at best Edwards has us yo-yoing between the divisions, hoping for a 17th place, and building a squad like Burnley.

There’s no way Edwards can deliver that comfortable mid table/stable PL side Shi referred to.

Everybody needs a reset , probably including Nathan ...We can not go into next season with this storm cloud hanging over us...it just simply will not work...

I thought for months we need a change in at least one of Edwards or Jackson....
Going simply on mentality in the last few weeks it has to be Edwards...

I still don't think it will happen mind because I simply think Fosun won't want the expense of paying someone off and hiring some one else....They are the main problem really despite it would seem Nathan being a decent bloke,..

As that bloke said the other night: 3 WINS IN 25 GAMES!!! Whatever he came in to that record is abysmal, he hasn't improved us in any way, we have been bottom throughout and not even managed to catch a dreadful Burnley. I don't know when the fans of this club became conditioned to accept such rubbish.

We may as well have saved a fortune and kept Vitor in post than paying him off and shelling out £4m (FOUR MILLION POUNDS) on Rob Vanilla to come in and oversee 25 games with no discernible improvement.

Oh he wants to be here they cry. So what? He likes the fat salary and being able to watch Strictly with Mrs Edwards on a Saturday night. I don't doubt he is fond of the club and proud to be here but that's not enough for me, we're not a charity. Bully is far more of a Wolves man but wouldn't want him as manager either. Oh he deserves a chance, he did us a favour coming here, we can't shatter his dreams - he has form for it himself, ask FGR and Boro, he has no qualms about deserting clubs when it suits. We need to be ruthless and put Wolves first not Rob Edwards dream

Only 106 votes out of 22,000 ticket holders though.
More or less proves your point.
Yes, thing is what it says is 47 people (who may or may not actually be STHs) said they weren't going to renew. Maybe that was true, maybe not, but it's 0.25% of STHs and clearly wasn't a representative sample. I don't imagine the poll for this year is any more representative.

The only hope is that Nathan realises his job and future depend on what he does next and does he really want to gamble on Edwards?

Did we ever look like turning that around though? We didn’t
That's not the point though is it.
Don't tell me we brought RE in just for the sake of managing in the Championship.
What was the conversation at the interview, "Mr Edwards, we can't tell the fanbase but we've actually thrown the towel in two months into the season and we've just hired you to catapult us out of the Championship in 12 months time".

Just keep Vp if that were the case he had more chance of turning it around than RE

When managers complained that players stopped following simple instructions, it was usually right before they got the sack. And rightly so. If Edwards thinks he can whittle the squad down to 5 and start again from there, he's in for a shock.

There's no reason for professional footballers not to do as the manager says that doesn't reflect badly on the manager is there. Also no reason for him to say that it's happening that has a good outcome. I genuinely thought he must have been told his time was up after Brighton. I guess it's still possible, only time will tell.

The only possible way for him to go is last 2 games really bad performances and fans really turning on him today
If he wins either game he stays imo
I genuinely dont know whats best, if, as they say ,they are well advanced on deals, he must have had input on them
If another manager comes in at the end of the season he will have his hands tied to great extent if thats the case
With players he probably doesnt want and a pre ordained style of play that he may not agree with

If Nathan is basing his decision on two games against teams with nothing to play for then he’s an even bigger idiot than Jeff.
