2025/26 Season Mr Rob Edwards and his Press Conferences

We gave feedback on the group

...
would any of the feedback pass the swear filter do you think?

His pressers do seem rather vapid. Maybe I'm just annoyed and being harsh. Idk.

It's all very samey, cliched, and 'textbook' - similar to O'Neil's style. You can see him pausing and thinking, as if he's considering what he thinks he should say rather than what he actually wants or needs to say.

'Media training' must come as part of their Coaching Qualifications.

Yep. Anyone who calls the squad 'the group' is an instant turn-off

I think by now there can’t be many out there expecting anything new, at this moment in our football history we are in the most perfect of storms.
Owners that have no idea how to run the club.
An ex-player as manager, no doubt he cares.
A mix of players some who no longer want to be here and have already left emotionally, mixed with some who should never have been here in the first place.
We can all point the finger at various individuals but ultimately this whole saga is the result of one single person’s ineptitude.
Our complete anger and abuse should be targeted singularly in only his direction.
From minute one until the end he should feel our pain until he is gone.

Agree completely. The whole 'he cares' thing is another red herring some on here have latched onto because it's what the club want you to do. Edwards caring could be a gift, it could be a curse - we don't know how the pressure of knowing that people he knows well are looking to him to save their jobs will influence his work.

Lopetegui didn't care one iota for the club but I know who I'd rather have trying to save us in this situation, although as you correctly point out, it's a moot point akin to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, because the running of the club above the head coach has already essentially determined our course anyway

Edwards is one of dozens of bang average coaches who will spend their lives being also-rans in the lower leagues of the EFL. Who cares if he supports Wolves or Forest Green Rovers? He was appointed because he won't rock the boat. Shi probably thinks the fact he is local means we will automatically love him. That shows how little Shi understands how we think after 10 years living here. The only hope of getting out of this death spiral is if by some miracle someone offers to buy us and we escape the FOSUN stranglehold.

I’m hoping the one good thing of hiring Edwards is he will say it as it is as a fan and call out the ownership in Jan

Doubtful though.

Edwards call the owners out!!??!! And pigs might fly. The main reason he got the job is that they know he WON'T call them out. He'll pocket the dough, say the right things, and quietly manage the decline, that's what he was hired to do. Made a great start -- three games played, three defeats, no goals scored, and (only) 4 conceded. Just what the doctor ordered.

Of course not and nor would I in his position. That's his career and calling out the owners would damage or even destroy it.

He's come in because, like all managers, he thinks he's brilliant at the job and can make it work. Whether he can or not we'll see, but he knows, or should know, what he's taken on.

He's clearly not a bad manager but he looks for all the world like a championship/league 1 manager so far in his career. There's potential there but if he's not got long to show if he can manifest that or not and he's chosen the hardest of places to do it.

People keep saying it's an impossible job but it isn't. VP should have had 2 wins but for poor tactical changes. RE was perhaps unlucky vs Villa but in 3 games we've barely had a shot. It's a poor squad but it isn't an impossible job. RE has lost 3 on the trot and it's vital he gets points in the next 4 games because losing 7 on the trot is not viable for any manager, let alone one who just came in.

What do people expect him to say exactly, ‘we’re **** and we’ve got no hope?’. He’s striking the right tone for me so far, acknowledging our shortcomings while not becoming too bogged down with negativity.
As long as they show fight effort and passion I dont mind

But we cannot accept giving up and not trying

We need to press harder and attack united they aren't that good

To be fair to Edwards he did say the fans weee right to be annoyed at a lack of fight.
