2025/26 Season Mr Rob Edwards and his Press Conferences

There is a certain amount of diplomacy required in such circumstances, it’s just good manners.

Rob effectively walked out on Middlesboro to come to the club he loves. Give him a break.

Disappointing post in the circs.
I don’t understand what’s disappointing?
I’m wanting the press conference to be about wolves not his former employer

Ive been nothing but supportive of Rob and sick of the hypocrisy and attack on him for moving to his dream job at the club he loves

Don't know what you're reading there. The trouble with these things is the questions that get asked, I'm sure he'd happily not mention Boro, we just need some grown up journalists who allow that to happen.

Only took two things really.

1. Will play a system to suit the players rather than trying to fit them into a system - think that might well mean a back 4.

2. There's a plan and it acknowledges the possibility of relegation - what that means for January who knows, probably not a Lopetegui/Vitor style spending spree though.

Hope his confidence and enthusiasm is picked up by the team we desperately need that
I get the feeling he will be excellent with the players, seems like a proper man manager. Despite what we have seen this season, I do think we have the quality to pick up the points we need. Hopefully Rob is the man to coax it out of them.

Nothing ground breaking but thats what you'd expect.
Doc doing well but not ready for tomorrow....thats him definitely starting then.

Totally agree. We're a better team than the table suggests, I believe(hope) a positive manager like RE will get them believing again.

We really are not. We are on course to have the lowest points total in Premier Lg history? RE may get them to 'believe', whatever that means, but he can't give them skills or abilities they just don't have. He seems like a nice bloke but whether he has the metal to get something/anything out of this lot remains to be seen. I think he's been brought in with the Championship in mind.

We certainly are better than we shown so far
Should have picked up more points than we currently have for sure
Theres probably half the team not performing to their abilities currently
Ok theres some that wont/cant improve, but if we get our better players performing then we can start to win games
Confidence is such a big part of the game ,and at the moment we have very little
A win will boost us no end ,a couple of wins and we can climb the table
Ofc its a huge ask to avoid the drop from here and RE knows that
I hope, if he shows he can mange at this level, we keep him on whatever place we finish
If we bounce straight back it could be the reset we need and we move up a level

We need to hold on to the fact that eight of the side that went on that winning run towards the end of last season are still at the club. Cunha and RAN are obviously big losses but a decent coach should at least make us competitive. Tbh that's all I want; it's felt like we have no chance of even competing before a ball's been kicked for most of this season hasn't it?

Poor as we've been, goalkeeping errors appear to have been the #1 main cause of us falling short of our expected points. The other single biggest issue ,could call it #1b, is not creating enough chances.

Not sure how we can fix the goalkeeping problem, we are stuck with who we have and no formation change can change that. On not creating, it's a very difficult, but you'd like to think there is surely something we can do to improve? Even improving set pieces would be a start.

On the positive, defensively, despite condeding lots, we've not been disasterous. At least I think we have the players to build a PL level defence, if set up properly. We had that run of 3 matches under VP when we got a win and 2 draws and defensibely looked very sound, unlucky to draw. (why VP threw that away is baffling..). There is at least hope there.

Totally agree. And I think this is why in the end, we lost out in those Spurs & Brighton matches to very late goals. You could sense after 80 mins, after looking good value for the win, the players just wanted the whistle to blow and get us that win. Desperation set in, when if we'd had a win already (e.g .Leeds or Everton) I think we'd have won both of those two, too.

Unfortunately Palace are right on form and one of the worst teams to play right now.

It might just be me, but listening to the press conference, it appears it’s just business as usual. GON/VP/RE, it’s like someone’s going to eventually pull off the disguise and we’ll find out it’s always been Dean Saunders.

We actually won, I think, the first 4 matches of our six game winning run without Cunha as he was suspended. So that gives hope. However, key to that run, were Semedo and RAN, and Sarabia had a purple patch and chipped in with key assists and goals too. Still, we're better than just having 2 points at this stage of the season. We've just got to hang on in there and not allow the gap to get bigger and hope we can get more quality in January.

The hope is that the players hadn't decided VP could go **** himself yet at that point, as opposed to this season. So just purely by a change of the guard etc we see better performance levels across the board.

Could be the case. It's hard to overstate how bad a bad boss can be for any industry.

'fraid I agree. I've watched most of our matches and we really are a poor side, error-prone, lack of creativity and can't defend or score. If Edwards can get us beyond Derby's record low points total; I'd take it. However, we are Championship-bound and hope that he can build a squad from the remnants of one of the worst squads in Premier League history, together with a few decent acquisitions to mount a promotion push next year; ideally without Shi and Fosun.

I dont think thats correct tbh
We have lost 2 good players in Cunha and RAN
Sarabia was a bit part player although for me very good
We have bought in Krejci who is very good ,so even if you class the rest of our buys as poor its only one or two from the same as last season
Confidence and belief is whats needed
Obviously we are odds on to drop, but the worst squad in Prem history? i dont think so

I'm really not sure we are. For me we're a desperate teams with virtually no quality left. I don't expect much to change regardless of the change but hope I'm proven wrong

This is probably the most quality this team will have between now and the next few years at least. There are plenty of decent players in the squad. It's just horrifically balanced because the people who put this team together are absolutely terrible at what they do.

We lost Cunha, Ran, Semedo and Sarabia, they were quality players and the players bought in haven’t stepped up. Yet. Now is the time to do it.

Absolutely, he needs to be given time to build something.

Edwards had been given a huge opportunity, we’re all hoping for a new manager bounce, but there has to be a longer term view as well.
