2025/26 Season Mr Rob Edwards and his Press Conferences

I don't think he got the players he wanted.

But coaches are judged on the ability to work with what they've got and within certain confines. Since January the squad needed at least eight players so were we truly in a position to spend £120m on three players with £8m a year salaries? That would have been possible with some academy graduates and clever deals on others, but let's not forget there is no such thing as a free transfer and we have never fully utilised the loan market ( to fill out the squad ). I don't think Teams like Leeds or Sunderland are great shakes but they are going to finish above us.

Yes, 4 starts. He was poor at Spurs, but he only went off because of the formation change. Just saying, Vitor isn't obsessed with playing him every week (he saves that blind spot for Munetsi!).

I'd say to Hwang you are playing as an out and out striker. Don't fall back in line, forget running around with Munetsi your job is to keep their central defenders busy and keep a high line. Leave the defending to eight others.

Interesting. Genuine question, no angle, do you know how many he was fit for?
Transfermarkt have him injured for 4 and not in the squad for 2 more so potentially those. However the point remains that VP pretty much froze him out last season, he played 7 minutes during the 6 win streak (not that I'm making a causal link there necessarily!) I think he just sees him as a safe pair of hands currently (even if the rest of us see him as an unsafe pair of feet).

Thought exactly the same thing instantly.

Make what you will of Vitor and his performance so far this season, but he made his views perfectly clear on what was needed at the start of the window in terms of players coming in early in the window.

Jeff didn't deliver.Again.Again, again.Again, again, again.

****ing ********.
I thought he's said something along the lines he's not going to use the lack of prem experience as an excuse and there's more than enough quality to be getting results? When pushed on the transfers by Mike Taylor.

I didn't see that as a dig to Jeff?

I think Wolves win Sunday and continue playing better. Every reason to suspect this side will improve.
My school report sounded like that, but unfortunately I didn't (improve).
How I got a job in Computing, heaven knows as I was an absolute duffer when I left.
Anyway, back to Sunday. I'm having a dry (or not so) run to Shifnal tomorrow via Wolverhampton so will make sure the beer is up to spec at the GW in readiness for the following day.

Pereira talks about us needing more cohesion and time on the training but am I correct in saying the players had three days off after the Sunderland shambles? In the situation we are in surely this cant be the right way to go about things?

Forgot his PC was today. I rarely listen to them anymore. His joviality and chattiness has well and truly worn off now. During his golden spell last season he said he hates losing but since that time he's rarely won a match, and that includes pre-season, so he needs a massive turn-around to save his job and to keep us up.

And yet was obviously happy enough to sign on for another 3 years!

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira on what he would say to supporters ahead of the trip to Craven Cottage: "I know a way to change the current situation and the answer is to work hard every day. I'm trying to convince my team that we have quality and convince them to keep their energy up.

"We have to go into the next game against Fulham with ambition. We have to increase our tactical organisation. We need to keep fighting because I think we deserve a result from the way that we work."

There was also a squad update after the midweek Carabao Cup match: "Rodrigo Gomes and Matt Doherty are out of the game."

I love his press conferences and post match interviews. Love how he's embraced the area, the club, the city, the fans, the local people. I've never wanted a manager to succeed as much as I have VP. This is a man who brought himself out of his contract with his own money to come here!

Bearing in mind GON wouldn't move here and was commuting from Kent. Think Lage was going back to Portugal most weekends!

Couldn't agree more. If he ends up sacked, I'll understand it from a results perspective but I'll not rejoice like I did when GON was sacked.
And obviously as long as he's still here I really want him to turn it around. Brillant man.

This PC thread is going like the verdict thread and the prediction thread - less and less comments on here. Apathy has taken hold.

Been reading "Premier League: 10 things to Look out for this weekend" in The Guardian, as I do every week. An interesting paragraph on Fulham. Looks like a good time to play them, but i am sure they will be thinking that it is a great time to pay us, to get their season back on track.

"It has been a tricky start for Fulham. They have not been playing badly but little has gone their way. They have been on the wrong end of some poor refereeing calls and are struggling with injuries before a vital home game against Wolves. Joachim Andersen, Harry Wilson and Raúl Jiménez are doubts and Samuel Chukwueze, Rodrigo Muniz, Antonee Robinson and Emile Smith Rowe are key absentees. Marco Silva’s resources are stretched. But Fulham, who are three points and one spot above the bottom three, also need to look at themselves. They were slow to do business in the summer and did not add enough depth to their squad. Their inertia leaves them at risk of losing Silva at the end of the season, if not before."

I did see some of Marco Silva's press conference this afternoon. He said that Andersen, Wilson and Emile Smith Rowe will be in contention tomorrow, but in a kind of Vitor, "they are hoping to help us" kind of way.

Did anyone ask him about his plan to stop the wolf-killing god that is Alex Iwobi? Bloke's typically unplayable when he faces Wolves.
Might have a fiver on him as anytime goalscorer.

Wonder who will take responsibility for press conferences assuming we haven’t got a new head coach

When it was him and Steve Davies in charge he let Steve Davies do all the media stuff as he wasn't comfortable with it, glad to see him dealing with it well.
You can probably get away with calling the players lunatics if it's just a fill in job too ;)

Lets hope that he can steer them away from mainly talking about Boro in tomorrows presser.

There is a certain amount of diplomacy required in such circumstances, it’s just good manners.

Rob effectively walked out on Middlesboro to come to the club he loves. Give him a break.

Disappointing post in the circs.
