Apologies for posting this (as I know it covers old ground) but just seen a brilliant Sunderland and then Leeds battling hard at City on MOTD and looking at the table tonight I could cry. Not too long back we would have regarded a 15th place finish as shocking (under Nuno 8th would have been poor) and now still in November, 15th has become an unreachable dream. I rarely if ever watch MOTD and this is why; I get too upset comparing us now to other sides who not that long ago we were so far ahead, and now seeing them so far ahead of us. This turn around seems to have happened over night but the reality is it has been taking place over several years. I just don't know where it is going to end. Apologies once again but I'm just so fed up with all of this.

It was my feelings exactly when I saw Fulham win at Spurs.
Being totally realistic, at best I think we could finish above Burnley & Leeds but no way do I see us catching the West Ham’s, Notts Forest’s and Fulham’s, who all have a lot more points than us and are all picking up wins after poor starts.
Watching Jiminez show he’s still got something to offer at Premier League level tonight, kind of sums up how dreadful our decision making’s been over the last few years. We support him through his recovery from an awful head injury and just at the point he’s about to start being a real asset to the first team, an overrated and arrogant manager unnecessarily disrespects him and he leaves for a comparative pittance, leaving us to spend far more on inferior replacements.

Lopetegui’s treatment of Raul was nothing short of disgraceful. I will never forgive him.

Jimenez walks into this team, in fact, he’d be our best player.

Idiot, Julen.

I've accepted we're down, I just hope we at least beat Derby's points total and also don't embarrassingly start fighting each other (again) on the pitch before it all ends.
I just want to at least have a period where the team looks a bit frisky. Just one patch of the season where it's not all ****. 7 goals in 12 games ffs. How?

This frisky patch - are you talking a run of results or 15 mins after the half time break ?

Who would have forecast that Liverpool would win 7 in a row at the start of this season to go top of the league and then go on their worst run for 72 years? The dividing line between success and failure is thin. Loss of confidence in both cases has a lot to do with it. But it helps if you don't keep on selecting the same rubbish players.

How can we all see it yet those at the club cannot??

Keep playing the same players / system and expect different results?????? Crazy!!

When we beat 3-0 Leicester back in April to make it six in a row, imagine the odds you could have got that we wouldn't win again for the next 16 games (and counting). Think we could all have retired by now with the winnings.

Imagine the odds you could have got on Leicester being relegated and still having 3 more Premier League points than us since that game…

Its getting to the stage that three teams are going to be cut adrift. I cant see Forest and West Ham staying where they are and Fulham won last night.

I think we all know where you're coming from with that, but the old idiom about 'rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic' has never felt so apt.
We have to try something different literally nothing to lose at this point!!

Fulham can turn it on when they want to better than the table suggests still a long way to go

Just imagine if we could win 3 games!! Lol.

Calling JL overated is harsh. Arrogant yes but he was proven correct as far as Jeff is concerned.

When you look at the players we have to choose from, you realise just what an epic ****s up has happened, for us to end up in this sorry state of affairs.

It’s bordering on criminal that you can end up with a squad, which has so little quality. Well over half of them aren’t even “footballers” in the true sense. They can’t pass a ball five yards with any accuracy, can’t hit a target that’s 24ft wide and 8ft tall, from 8 yards and well over half of them don’t have a footballing brain.

I really don’t think it matters who plays. We have 3 or 4 decent players and the rest are much of a muchness. We just don’t have enough accomplished, rounded players. Those calling for Mane to start, must be doing it out of desperation (understandably), rather than anything they’ve actually seen him do.

We’re stuffed folks, and have been since preseason. The writing was on the wall, as early as that. The alarm bells rang after watching us against RC Lens. There isn’t a prayer that we stay up. If we did it would become the 8th new wonder of the world, such is the likelihood and magnitude of the task.

My view is that he did well to keep us up in 2022/23 but had a far better set of players to work with and was properly backed in the January 2023 transfer window. We also ended that season with some dreadful performances (Brighton away 6-0).
He then did a poor job at West Ham and was sacked within a few months.
So for someone with Real Madrid and a Europa league trophy on their CV, I’d say he was certainly underwhelming in the Premier League. GON even managed to keep us up for one season minus the likes of Neves that JL had.

WHU are something of a basket case. Potter followed JL and was binned. Nuno isn't doing too well either.
Strange GON and Vitor following JL failed.
We all know where the answer lies.

Wasn’t Raul prioritising going to the World Cup rather than playing for the team in the relegation zone. As a manager coming in that wouldn’t have looked good.

Because we go forward slower than James May. We have virtually no pace in the team (essential in the Premier League) and it seems systematically got rid of our only progressive carriers in Neto, then Cunha, then Ait-Nouri. We are easily the most predictable side in the division, and I think a good portion of the Championship shut out and eventually beat this lot on any given day. Which bodes ill for next season, even before the fire sale begins in earnest. It does not matter whether our head coach is Rob Edwards or Pep Guardiola, there is no polishing this turd.

Yeah absolutely. Our board have in the last few seasons been an absolute masterclass in how to make dreadful decisions on the football side.
It’s pretty amazing we’ve stayed in the top league as long as we have.

7 teams had more points than us after 1 game than we do on December 1st.

Jeff says he doesn’t judge a season until 15 games in, so we’re still ok
Did he really say that? That's the kind of thing that wise old birds like Graham Taylor used to say. And that's where Jeff has copied it from because he thinks it makes him look the part. I don't know who he thinks he 's kidding though as he has already proved himself to be a lame-brained arrogant idiot when it comes to anything to do with football. Pull the other one Jeff. It's got bells on.

I actually think we're going to finish above Leeds and Burnley. Just there's not another rubbish team who we can catch now. Even if went mad and spent tonnes in January or Sunderland take a massive dip in form.

Genuinely believe your first point?
