Exactly this. It’s in the post - clubs like Liverpool can tout a global audience of say 10 million potential viewers, cut a deal with say Apple and then only Apple LFC subscribers can watch their games - and so it completes the circle of eating itself!

It’s over isn’t it? The powers that be will not be seen to lose face over VAR; too many pockets are lined (legally and illegally IMO - the amounts bet each EPL game globally are staggering), and the target audience is not those that produced the golden goose - being slowly roasted to a cinder in...
I’m all for it. They seem driven by the TV fan mostly abroad so that would be impactful. So sick of this VAR meddling season after season. It’s killed the game I’ve loved for nearly six decades.
I’ve thought for several seasons that the constant and consistent shafting by VAR must affect the players. Work your nits off to score and then wait for some muppet watching replays looking for ways to disallow it. It’s big, huge, swinging, hairy, sweaty you-know-whats.
And don’t forget significantly larger away allocations; maybe even a flexible away ‘end’ - the atmosphere would be immense when we played those with good sized followings.
